Vanessa Collier

Maryland based blues singer and saxophonist Vanessa Collier is bringing her full band back to perform in the wake of an extremely buzzed about main stage performance at The Ladybug Festival. Vanessa Collier is a captivating and multitalented blues vocalist, saxophonist, and songwriter, hailing from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music where she earned dual degrees in Performance and Music Production & Engineering. Prior to releasing her debut album in August 2014, Vanessa spent a year and a half touring in the U.S. and internationally with Grammy Award-winning, Blues Hall of Fame Artist Joe Louis Walker. Vanessa has also played alongside Annie Lennox, Kathy Mattea, Willie Nelson, and other notable artists.

The Splashing Pearls

Wilmington’s own Island/Folk/Bluesy hybrid trio The Splashing Pearls will do a rare performance as the local headliner. The Splashing Pearls are one of the most engaging bands to emerge in a long time. Original songs written by Peter Scobell that tell stories "the old-fashioned way", supported by a quirky and unique blend of instrumentation. While it was happenstance that they arrived as a trio of ukulele, steel drums and upright bass, the real "coup de grace" is the wonderful vocal by Larkin Salemi. Whether it be folk, rock, blues, reggae, swing, fun or vaudeville, The Splashing Pearls always entertain.

High School Bands

Fall In August

Rusty Blue

Rusty Blue is an alternative/hard rock band from Wilmington, DE that is made up of four high school students; Gregory Stanard fronts the band on Vocals & Rhythm Guitars, Clayton Milano on Lead Guitar, Joey Heins on Bass Guitar & Damien Pace on Drums.

Arden Kind

When it comes to playing rock n roll from your soul, youth is no barrier. Deeply influenced by classic rock and modern bands such as Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Radiator Hospital, and Modern Baseball, this band is a dedicated group of teenagers finding ways to blend classic and new, creating a unique style of postmodern rock.

Tickets

Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door. Limited seating is available! The Queen limits the number of tickets we can sell, so don't wait! We cannot stress this enough. We sold out at our last music event, the High School Rock Fest, which made for some very angy parents that did not get to see their children perform. If you want a spot, buy it now.

Using the "Will Call" ticket purchasing method below will reserve your tickets at the "Will Call" box office that can be picked up as you enter The Queen. Make sure you specify a name that the tickets can be picked up by!  If you prefer to purchase tickets through ticketfly, the ticketing system World Cafe Live uses, you'll be subject to ticket fees. Do yourself a favor and save $3 using the will call method.

Tickets are no longer available for pre-sale!

Tickets must be purchased at the box office at World Cafe Live at the Queen. Sold on a first come, first served basis.

Where does the money go? 100% of proceeds will be donated back to Save the Valley so we can continue our efforts to save Beaver Valley from destruction by developers.
